Spooky and Peek-A-Boo Slots - Escalante National Monument,
Utah.
Date - 5/12/07.
Distance - 2.9 Miles.
Time - 4.5 Hours.
This hike is listed in the canyoneering section. It is
a level 2 canyon so it requires no technical gear.
There is some scrambling involved in a couple spots but the
average hiker can handle these easily. It is
recommended to bring some rope say 20 feet long or so to
assist those that feel they need it.
I highly recommend checking out these 2 canyons. The hike
is pretty easy and the slots are awesome. These are some of
the best nontechnical canyons I have been in. They are
short but well worth your time. Bring a camera and take
your time in there.

Valley of Fire state park, Nevada.
Fire Canyon via Mouse's Tank - Valley of Fire state park,
Nevada.
Date - 3/01/09.
Distance - 4.8 Miles.
Time - 3.5 hours
This hike is listed in the canyoneering section. It is
a level 2 canyon so it requires no technical gear.
Frequent scrambling is involved on a portion of this route.
A 30 foot rope should be brought along to assist those in
the group that are not comfortable with some of the down
climbs.
The narrow sections on this route are short and
intermittent. This route does not have the tight slot
feeling I like to have on a canyon route. But this is
a worth while route since it offers travel through more of
Valley of Fire than the short general hiking trails.
Long portions of wide areas along this route are extremely
peaceful feeling.
